MILJHUL
MEAL PROGRAM
Feeding with the help of institutions!
It is rightly said that children are the torchbearers of a nation's progress and future. To inculcate values of sharing, caring and giving back to society in our own little ways, Roti Bank launched Miljhul Meal Program, an initiative to feed the needy with the help of educational institutions. At present Roti Bank has 13 school partners who contribute 200-400 food packets each on a daily basis. With their help, Roti Bank distributes over 3500 meals daily to the needy.
The model is simple- the students, teachers and other staff members generously bring in food packets each day to the school which is collected by our volunteers. The volunteers then take these to the places where food packets are mostly required, that is, outside gurudwaras, sabzi mandis, construction sites, rickshaw stands etc. This way we connect the schools with the people in need of food. The happiness on both these ends is multiplied and enjoyed by doing this.
“Happiness quite unshared can scarcely be called happiness; it has no taste.”
