VRIKSHAALA

Karien Jadhey Mazboot!

Vrikshaala is a weekend life skill training program that tries to bring children from different socio-economic platforms together to learn and grow constructively. We at Roti Bank firmly believe that many social problems can be ameliorated drastically if there is self-reliance amongst the ones fighting challenges of hunger and poverty. At the core of every SDG lies an urgent need of empowering individuals to become self-reliant. Inspired by these principles and ethos, Vrikshala was launched in February 2018. In this program we use Art, both performing and creative to provide inclusive, safe and meaningful learning opportunities to children. We also focus on imbibing life skills and social skills amongst the kids to help them become independent for earning money and food for themselves in future.

The program is led by an enthusiastic team of women volunteers who work at odd hours to build creative learning modules for children. Vrikshaala is impacting more than 150 children at present through its sessions held every Sunday.
